Why test for monopersulfate? Some hot tubs rely on monopersulfate to reduce sanitizer level, so these test strips assure there is enough monopersulfate in the water to do the job. Monopersulfate is sometimes used as the primary sanitizer and is present in products such as Nature 2, Spa Frog and other mineral sticks and additives. Monopersulfate is also used to shock spa water to reduce contaminants in the water so they are oxidized. This process reinvigorates residual bromine or chlorine in the water so the sanitizer can do a better job of sanitizing the water.
Whether Monopersulfate is used as a stand alone sanitizer or whether it is being used as a non-chlorine shock treatment, these 3 in 1 test strips will help monitor the monopersulfate levels in the spa water as well as the pH and alkalinity. 50 test strips per bottle.
